INVENTORY 

United Lens Company maintains a large inventory of over 300 types of Optical Glass, Pyrex®, Fused Silica and Quartz.  Much of our inventory is pre-annealed, allowing us to quickly obtain a specific material for use in machining, grinding and polishing in order to meet customer delivery requirements.

SERVICE CENTER 

Our Service Center utilizes the latest CNC equipment to produce Machined Blanks. We are continually investing in the most effective methods for producing product.  Some of this equipment includes:

Prism Generators

Dual Head CNC Programmable Curve Generators

WaterJet Cutting Equipment

Edgers

And a wide variety of Multi-Axis CNC Cutting Equipment.

State-of-the-art Metrology is used to measure and qualify all product. 

OPTICAL SHOP

In the OPTICAL SHOP, we produce Precision Ground and Polished Flat Optics...

using Planetary Polishers,

and a wide variety of Double Sided Polishing Equipment. 

Interferometry is used to certify flatness to 1/20th Wave. 

Profilometry is used to measure surface roughness to less than 2 Angstroms RMS. 

COATING

Multiple state-of-the-art Coating Chambers are used to provide a wide range of Thin Film Coatings.

Robotic Cleaning is used to ensure parts are contaminant free prior to coating.

Spectrophotometric readings are performed to assure coatings meet specification.
 

MOLDED BLANKS

Molded Blanks begin with the material being cut to weight, 

then molded to shape in gas fired furnaces.

Blank configurations include Prisms, Rounds, Squares, and Rectangles having spherical, cylindrical and torroidal radii.

Annealing is then performed in one of our 55 computer controlled annealing ovens to relieve stress and achieve desired index values.

MACHINE SHOP 

We also maintain an in-house Machine Shop that utilizes the latest CNC equipment to fabricate tooling, jigs and fixtures, and allows us to shorten your delivery schedule.
