SPIE Optifab, North America’s largest optical fabrication event, will return to the Rochester Riverside Convention Center in Upstate New York from October 15 – 17. United Lens Company (ULC) will be among these exhibitors, and will offer product information at Booth #808 in the New York Pavilion.
According to Optifab’s sponsors, the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) and the American Precision Optics Manufacturers Association (APOMA), this year’s event expects more than 2,000 attendees—including several professionals with experience in optical engineering and technical support.
Exhibition and Conference
Three industry-leading professionals are slated to chair the 2019 Optifab Exhibition: Jonathan Sydor of Sydor Optics, Inc., Justin J. Mahanna of Universal Photonics, Inc., and Michael DeMarco of QED Optics.
Over the course of this three-day event, nearly 200 exhibiting companies—experienced in both the design and manufacturing of optical products—will present their latest innovations to approximately 950 exhibition visitors. Featured Technologies of the exhibition will include:

Focus Topics will include: Automated Manufacturing – Robotic Assisted Manufacturing, Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and Software For The Optical Fabrication Industry; High-Volume and High-Precision Optics Manufacturing – Injection Molding, Glass Molding and Lithographic Processes; and Next Generation Optical Fabrication Workforce – Technician Training, Apprenticeship Programs and Outreach Programs.
Additionally, the Conference will feature New Advancements in Foundational Optifab Topics, including materials and material sciences, functional coating technology, design for manufacturing, cleaning and contamination, and several others.
Industry leaders will also have the opportunity to announce their latest breakthrough products. Two of these companies are Precision Glass & Optics, introducing infrared (IR) optics for various commercial, military, and biomedical applications, and attocube Inc., introducing its new AMC100 temperature controller, which features higher peak currents to improve overall positioner performance.
