The International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) has announced that its latest event—the Defense + Commercial Sensing Conference and Expo—will take place from April 11-13 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. This event is regarded as the premiere optics exhibition relating to defense, health care, security, as well as the environment. United Lens Company (ULC) will be among the featured exhibitors at this year’s highly anticipated event.
The Defense + Commercial Sensing Expo gives exhibitors and attendees the opportunity to expand their understanding and application of precision sensors, fiber optics, laser and infrared systems, imaging components, and related technologies. This expo will serve as a platform for industry leaders to share their findings with other professionals as well as potential clients. Additionally, event attendees are given the opportunity to further enrich their service offerings by participating in various workshops presented by their peers.
Exhibition, Demos, and Industry Events
According to SPIE, their annual exhibitions help connect people while educating them about the industry’s latest technological advancements. The 2017 Defense + Commercial Sensing Expo has nearly 400 exhibitors, which represent leading optics companies from around the world. Featured exhibition technologies will include:
- Infrared sources, detectors, and systems
- Chemical and biological sensing
- High-precision optics manufacturing
- Cameras and CCD components
- Surveillance technology
- Imaging components, equipment, and systems
- Photonic sensors, spectroscopy, multi-spectral, hyperspectral
- Fiber optic components, equipment, sensors, and systems
Laser Accessories and Systems
Several exhibitors will also offer training courses and workshops, which will discuss and demonstrate the industry’s cutting-edge optics tools and practices. This year’s courses contain several notable program tracks, including Imaging and Sensing Technologies, Defense, Homeland Security, and Law Enforcement, Next Generation Sensors and Systems, Imagery and Pattern Analysis, Optical and Optomechanical Engineering, Sensor Data and Information Exploitation, Professional Development, and many others.
On the Expo floor, attendees will be given a demonstration by IJK Controls, a notable tracking and stabilization company. IJK Controls will explain how defense technology is being utilized by the entertainment industry to create movies, such as Star Wars, The Revenant, and Independence Day: Resurgence. The full Exhibition Guide is available on the SPIE Website.
