The 2018 SPIE Defense + Commercial Sensing Conference and Expo is scheduled for April 15 – 19 and will be held at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, FL. United Lens Company (ULC) was once again invited to exhibit at this renowned industry event and will be exhibiting at Booth #1629.
According to the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE), Defense + Commercial Sensing has firmly established itself as the country’s leading event for global sensing and photonics technologies. Building on the success of the 2017 event, the upcoming expo will explore the latest advancements of several technologies.
Exhibition and Special Events
The SPIE Defense + Commercial Sensing Exhibition gives consumers, manufacturers, and researchers a platform to develop connections and exchange information related to the photonics industry. This year, Defense + Commercial Sensing has 400 exhibiting companies, which will discuss various trending technologies:
- Optical Components (including specialized coatings and lenses)
- Infrared Detectors, Sources, and Systems
- Cameras and CCD Components
- Law Enforcement Technologies
- Imaging Components, Equipment, and Systems
- Photonic and Fiber Sensors
- Spectroscopy (Multi-spectral and Hyperspectral)
- High-speed Imaging and Sensing
The Exhibition will also feature unique Product Demonstrations, including the World’s First Flash LiDAR Zoom System, the DUV RamanPL200 Spectrometer, and Next Generation Ultra-high performance CMOS Image Sensors, among others. These technologies can be found in the Level 1 Exhibition Hall.
Defense + Commercial Sensing will also host Plenary Sessions, which feature top-level professionals from the U.S. Air Force, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Booz Allen Hamilton discussing current and emerging innovations in the photonics industry.
Additionally, this year’s expo will have Social Networking Events and a Job Fair, giving attendees the chance to connect with peers as well as inquire about new industrial opportunities.
SPIE Defense + Commercial Programs
Event attendees will gain access to two distinct programs—Defense + Security and Commercial + Scientific Sensing and Imaging.
Defense + Security caters to applications in border protection, cybersecurity, ocean sensing, and biometrics. Relevant technologies include Mine/Chemical Detection (CBRNE), Pattern and Target Recognition, Augmented and Virtual Reality, and Sensor Data and Information Exploitation.
Commercial + Scientific Sensing and Imaging focuses on commercial applications in various sectors, such as biotechnology, food safety, and automotive and autonomous systems. The Commercial Program will consider Computational Image Processing, Fiber Optic Sensors, 3D Imaging and Visualization, Biomedical/Physiological Sensors, and other technologies.
