ULC Travels to San Diego for annual SPIE Optics + Photonics Conference

The International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) is hosting its annual Optics + Photonics Conference and Exhibition from August 6 – 10 in the San Diego Convention Center. According to SPIE, the Optics + Photonics Conference is “America’s largest optical sciences meeting,” and United Lens Company (ULC) will be a main exhibitor at the 2017 event. ULC representatives can be found at Booth #430, near Hall A of the Convention Center.

The Optics + Photonics Conference gathers top professionals from various scientific disciplines, including optical engineering, nanotechnology, astronomical instrumentation, and sustainable energy. This year’s event will feature over 3,000 technical presentations, various engineering conferences and plenary sessions, a job fair, and 180 exhibiting companies.

Conferences and Plenary Sessions
Optics + Photonics is distinctive among SPIE events, as it presents more scientific findings and information than any other. The comprehensive information spans product development, emerging technologies, and other noteworthy topics.

This year’s event will feature three different Conference Program Tracks: Nanoscience, Nanoengineering, and Quantum Sciences and Technology.

Each Program Track will include various topics:

  • Nanoscience – Metamaterials, Metadevices, and Metasystems; Nanophotonic Materials; Plasmonics; Optical Trapping and Micromanipulation; Biosensing and Nanomedicine; Low-Dimensional Materials and Devices; Optical Sensing, Imaging, and Photon Counting
  • Nanoengineering – Fabrication, Properties, Optics, and Devices of Nanoengineering; Processing, Characterization, and Applications of Nanobiosystems
  • Quantum Sciences and Technology – Spintronics; Quantum Photonic Devices; Quantum Nanophotonics
  • Additionally, Plenary Sessions give event attendees the opportunity to learn about the latest developments from the top scientific minds in the world. These sessions include Technology Hot Topics, Nanoscience + Engineering, Optics + Photonics for Sustainable Energy, Organic Photonics + Electronics, and Optical Engineering + Applications.

    Exhibition and Job Fair
The Optics + Photonics Exhibition features emerging and prominent companies from around the world, making this event the most diverse optical sciences exhibition in the United States. Exhibitors will be able to connect with over 4,000 attendees—including potential customers and like-minded professionals—to discuss the latest optical engineering technologies.

    These technologies include:

    • Test and Measurement Equipment
    • Detectors, Sensors
    • Optical Components, Lenses
    • Cameras and Imaging Systems
    • Fiber Optics, Lasers, and Laser Systems
    • Nano-Precision Products
    • Chemicals, Optical Coatings, Thin Films
    • LED and OLED Technology
    • Sustainable Energy Research Products

SPIE will also be holding a Job Fair on the Exhibition Floor. Interested attendees can meet with recruiters from several notable companies, such as Lockheed Martin, Oculus, Panasonic Automotive, and many others. The Job Fair will be held on August 8 and 9 from 10 am to 5 pm.
